The rise in the global manufacturing PMI suggests that the strong recovery in industrial production continued in April, but supply constraints are continuing to push up prices around the world. While the IHS Markit surveys are yet to provide evidence that these shortages are limiting output, other surveys suggest that production growth has slowed because of supply constraints in the US and China.
